A design solution to support overworked hospital staff and to speed up the healthcare system, their machine learning model identifies brain tumors from MRI images with an accuracy rate above 99%.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h5><em>\u201cWe innovated by generating a heat map that displays where the tumour is located, if one was identified, and created a web user interface that allows users to interact with the model directly by uploading their own images.\u201d<\/em><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sponsored by Engineering Deans Canada, this award recognizes achievements in innovative design to advance the objectives of sustainable development outlined in the Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges.
