We are pleased to announce that James McIntyre will be taking on the role of National Engineering Education Ecosystem Project (NEEEP) Coordinator for Engineering Deans Canada (EDC).
The aim of the National Engineering Education Ecosystem Project (NEEEP) is to cultivate and coordinate an ecosystem that focuses on improving student learning experiences, inspiring continual innovation and promoting academic scholarship across Canadian higher education institutions. James’ new role will include building and strengthening relationships between existing engineering education groups, as well as working with stakeholders to establish sustainable long-term strategies for the network.
James McIntyre is currently the acting Chair of the School of Engineering and Architecture Technologies (SEAT) at George Brown College in Toronto, ON. He has been a Professor and Program Coordinator in the Mechanical Engineering Design Technology program since 2000. In addition to academic duties, James has been a leader in building research and innovation capacity through engagement with students, industry and community partners. James has been an active researcher and facilitated the creation of the Product Development Exchange (PDx) at George Brown College. He holds a Master’s degree in Product Development (Massey University), a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics (Queen’s University) as well as 8 years of industry experience in manufacturing engineering.
